For more than two decades, Jill Scott has invested in communities through the Blues Babe Foundation — supporting young people, educational opportunities, leadership development, and programming centered on care, dignity, and possibility. The Jill Scott Arts & Community Fund marks an exciting new chapter, building on that legacy with an expanded vision focused on creativity, education, opportunity, and long-term community impact.
As part of this next phase, the Fund has officially transitioned to a fiscally sponsored project of the Tides Center, one of the nation’s leading philanthropic and nonprofit infrastructure organizations. This partnership marks an important milestone in the future of Jill’s philanthropic work, creating new opportunities to deepen impact, expand programming, and strengthen community partnerships for years to come. As the work evolves, the Jill Scott Arts & Community Fund is expanding its focus toward more sustained, year-round community engagement centered on creativity, education, and opportunity. Areas of exploration include expanded STEM and arts programming, scholarships, mentorship, summer camp experiences, and educational support designed to help young people and families thrive. Building on more than two decades of service, the Fund reflects a continued commitment to creating meaningful opportunities and lasting impact in the communities it serves.
TIDES PARTNERSHIP
After more than a decade of impact through the Blues Babe Foundation, Jill Scott's philanthropic vision is entering an exciting new chapter. The Jill Scott Arts & Community Fund has officially launched as a fiscally sponsored project of the Tides Center creating a powerful foundation for expanded community investment, artistic empowerment, and long-term social impact. It has created real momentum as we think about long-term growth, partnerships, and what becomes possible over time. We are excited about what the Tides partnership will bring.
PROGRAMMING DIRECTION
The direction of the work is evolving as well. We are thinking much more intentionally about year-round engagement and sustained impact. Areas being explored include expanded STEM and arts education, summer camp experiences, scholarships, mentorship, and stronger educational support for youth and families. The broader vision is to build something deeply rooted in community and able to show up in meaningful ways throughout the year.
